Thomas Neff will leave Swissport at the end of February 2003 to take up a new position in the executive management of a Swiss public transport company. He will be in charge of its passenger business in rail and road transportation.
He helped launching Swissport in 1996 and was based in the Zurich head office until 1999 as Vice President Business Development. In this function, he played a key role in Swissport's rapid worldwide expansion. He has been appointed CEO of Swissport Germany, with its present head office in Dusseldorf, since January 2000.
Swissport Germany provides ground handling at 10 airports in Germany. In addition to the core areas of passenger and operations handling, they are managing two cargo warehouses and several travel agencies.
Within a short time, Thomas Neff has considerably strengthened Swissport's position in a very competitive market. The company, with its 1000 employees, generates an annual turnover of approx. €27 million (without minority participations).
Swissport is currently considering his replacement.
