Swissport-Star Alliance Cooperation in Los Angeles
Zurich/Los Angeles, July 30, 2007 Swissport, the global leader in the airport services sector has been awarded the management contract for the new Star Alliance Lounge at the Tom Bradley International Terminal, Los Angeles Airport.
As part of the agreement, Swissport will be responsible for the management, care, administration and the day to day running of the lounge.
The new 15,000 square foot facility is open to First and Business Class travellers as well as to Star Alliance Gold Card holders.
It can accommodate up to 264 passengers and will mainly be used by customers travelling on Star Alliance member airlines ANA, Asiana Airlines, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, SWISS and THAI, who currently operate (jointly) a total of 74 weekly flights from Los Angeles.
As well as special food and drink services, the new Star Alliance lounge features all the amenities that business travellers appreciate such as showers, business centres and internet connections.
The facilities will also be available free of charge to long-haul travellers, a benefit rarely offered in the USA.
The new lounge underlines the importance that Star Alliance attaches to ensuring a smooth, comfortable and convenient airport experience for its member airlines customers.
"Were delighted to have been selected to operate this new lounge facility," says Dion Fatafehi, Swissport Station Manager in Los Angeles. "Its immensely appealing in visual terms; its been extremely practically designed; and our 28 personnel are very much looking forward to working in it, to attend to our Star Alliance guests and their needs as well as we can and make their airport stay as pleasant and positive as possible."
