Zurich, 21 August 2009 – Swissport International, the world’s leading provider of ground services to the aviation sector, has appointed Peter Kohl as the new head of its German cargo organisation following Paul Arnold’s decision, to leave Swissport to pursue a new professional challenge. Kohl, who is 40, will also be in overall charge of Swissport’s Austria/Hungary cargo region in his new function, which he assumes on 1 September. [more]

Zurich/Hamburg, 27 April 2009 - Swissport International is selling its passenger handling operations in Germany to Aviation Handling Services GmbH. The sale, which will be formally concluded on 1 June, does not include the cargo handling activities of Swissport Deutschland GmbH. Preparations are already under way to ensure a smooth transfer of the passenger services concerned for customers and employees alike.[more]


Zurich, 24 April 2009 – Swissport International will see a change in its Group Executive Management on 1 June: Urs Sieber (60), Executive Vice President Ground Handling Europe, Middle East, Africa & Asia, is to assume a seat on the Swissport International Board of Directors. Sieber’s current duties are to be divided into two new entities: Juan José Andres Alvez (40) will serve as Executive Vice President EMEAA (Europe, Middle East Africa & Asia), while Adrian Melliger (38) will serve as Senior Vice President responsible for the key Swiss and German markets.[more]
