Zurich/Washington, 17 November 2010 – Swissport International, the world’s leading provider of ground handling services to the aviation sector, has announced the appointment of Dany Nasr as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of its Swissport Americas region, reporting to Richard van Bruygom, EVP Ground Handling Americas. In his new capacity, Dany Nasr will bear overall responsibility for all financial aspects of Swissport’s activities in the region, which extends to more than 90 stations in North, Central and South America. He will assume his new duties from January 2011.

PAI partners, the renowned Europe-based private equity group, is acquiring the company in full from its present owner Ferrovial. The acquisition confirms PAI partners’ interest in the growing aviation sector. The sale will have no impact on Swissport’s current clients or its personnel, and the present management team will also remain unchanged. The closing of the transaction is expected in the course of December.

Both Cathay Pacific & Turkish Airlines have handed over their ground service contracts to Swissport. Zurich/Stuttgart/Munich, 13 August 2010 – Swissport-Losch, the aviation services provider that has held a ground handling licence for Munich Airport since March of this year, has concluded a six-year contract with Deutsche Lufthansa AG to provide ground handling for the carrier’s Canadair and Embraer aircraft types. The contract, which covers a business volume of around 700 flights a week, will enter into effect on 1 January 2011.

The new contract for 2010-2015 covers all ground handling at SWISS’s three Swiss airports, with a total annual volume of some 64 000 flights.
Madrid/Zurich, 16 July 2010 – Spain’s state airport operator AENA has awarded Swissport International, the world’s leading provider of ground handling services to the aviation sector, a concession to provide care and assistance at eight Spanish airports for travellers with restricted mobility. The two-year concession enters into effect at the end of July.
