Zurich, March 26, 2001 Swissport International Ltd. began offering its services in Austria as of March 25. Some 45 staff of Swissport Austria GmbH offer passenger-related services at Vienna Airport. Swissport Austria began serving its first customers at Vienna Airport, Swissair and Sabena, on March 25. The company is currently in negotiations with other potential customers. Renate Adelmann, Swissports first female CEO, will head the new operation. She is tackling her new challenges with a pioneer spirit and a good deal of elan. For this reason, she and her team place a great deal of emphasis on innovation and international diversity. By following the same successful strategy, Swissport is expanding further into the European, Asian and U.S. market. Swissport North America commenced ground handling services for Delta Airlines in Detroit on January 15, 2001. The new business unit is providing ramp, cabin cleaning, GSE maintenance and janitorial services. Passenger services will be provided by mid March 2001 in Atlanta, Georgia. With pleasure, Swissport can also announce the firm opening of its location Vienna by the end of March. Swissport Austria will be able to offer all services related to passenger-side-activities. Thanks to a memorandum of understanding with Airport Vienna, ramp services will be provided as well. The 2 launching customers of our operation will be Swissair and Sabena. Jan Tindemans has been named President and CEO of Swissport France. The amalgamation of activities of Air Littoral Assistance, Swissair Ground Services and Eurohandling (cargo partnership) under the umbrella of Swissport France represents the onset of a phase of expansion by one of the leading ground handling companies in France. Swissport Dominicana is happy to announce the opening of the new airport in La Romana, Dominican Republic. The new airport was inagurated on the 14th of December during a lovely ceremony attended by the President of the Dominican Republic as well as the shareholders of the Central Romana Corporation owners of the airport. The first inter-continental operation was on the 18th of December by Lauda Air from Milan-Malpensa. The flight was on time and all services where handled according to Swissport's high standards. Swissport has been awarded a comprehensive ground handling license for the new Inchon International Airport in Seoul, Korea. IIA is supposed to open in late March 2001 and Swissport is now taking all necessary actions to become operational by then. Swissport will offer a full ground handling service range as well as fueling. With Seol the ground handler Nr. 1 is strengthening its position in the Asian market.
