Swissport and Cathay Pacific Cargo have signed a 5-year contract for the handling of air cargo at Frankfurt Airport. Today, the first shipment of the Hong Kong based carrier was processed at the new air cargo warehouse which Swissport opened just this Monday.[more]

Swissport has opened a brand-new air cargo facility at Frankfurt Airport today. The 17,000 sqm warehouse with an integrated Swissport Pharma Center is equipped with state-of-the-art handling technology and has direct tarmac access. An automated material handling system ensures efficient air cargo handling and storage while the FAIR@Link slot booking app controls the access of trucks and optimizes workflows.[more]

Swissport International has relocated its ground services and cargo business from Berlin Tegel and Berlin Schönefeld to the German capital’s new Berlin Brandenburg Airport and will be fully operational on 31 October 2020. With the move the company is also expanding its total cargo warehouse space in Berlin by some 60 percent to now 2,100 square meters.[more]

Swissport launches its own quality label for warehouses, which meet the company’s high standards for the storage and handling of temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical goods. Initially, 14 facilities will be labelled Swissport Pharma Centers. All of them are certified by the IATA CEIV Pharma or by the British MHRA, making them benchmark operations in the Swissport network. Further facilities will be validated and may be brought under the label.[more]

Swissport has agreed to a comprehensive restructuring with creditors and shareholders including a debt-for-equity swap and a new 500 million euros long-term debt facility. The restructuring will deliver a significant deleveraging for the company. Swissport has also finalized the 300 million euros additional interim facility.[more]

A group of senior secured creditors has committed to provide 300 million euros of interim liquidity to support operations through the completion of the restructuring. The agreement ‘in principle’ on a comprehensive restructuring includes significant deleveraging and a new 500 million euros long term debt facility, which will replace the interim facility. [more]

Swissport and Qatar Airways Cargo have renewed a contract covering airport ground services and air cargo handling at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport and signed new 5-year contracts for cargo handling at the airports in Manchester and Birmingham in the UK.[more]
