Swissport opens second Aspire Lounge at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport in Finland

Swissport opened the doors of its second airport lounge at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (HEL) in Finland under its award-winning Aspire brand. The facility complements an existing lounge, which has been operating at Helsinki Airport since 2014.

Dubbed Lounge 13, a nod to its location next to gate 13, the new lounge complements the existing Lounge 27, which has been operated by Aspire Airport Lounges at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport since 2014. The 308-sqm-facility designed in a sleek, Scandinavian style offers comfortable and elegant seating for 100 guests. A restaurant serves international cuisine, delicacies, and an attractive selection of beverages. Equipped with fast Wi-Fi, multiple power outlets and USB ports, Lounge 13 is a great place for travelers to relax and recharge before their trip.

“We were very excited when the opportunity presented itself to open a second lounge at Helsinki Airport,” says Tero Lampén, Commercial Director of Swissport Finland. “We have a very capable and international team here in Helsinki with a vast experience in hospitality management. The new space at Helsinki Airport was swiftly converted to meet Aspire standards and the result speaks for itself.”

Swissport currently operates 65 Aspire lounges at 38 airports around the globe. Last year, more than seven million travelers chose Aspire to relax and get refreshed before their flight or between flights. Aspire is open to passengers irrespective of airline or class of travel and offers amenities that ensure each stay is rewarding.

At Helsinki Airport, Swissport has been supporting airlines since 2011. Last year, the world’s leading provider of airport ground services and air cargo handling expanded into the fueling business in Helsinki by taking over the operations of Shell Aviation, including a customer portfolio of leading international carriers.
