Aspire Executive Lounges and Westjet open co-branded garden lounge at Calgary Airport
Swissport’s hospitality brand, Aspire Executive Lounges, has unveiled its latest airport lounge experience at YYC Calgary International Airport. The Aspire WestJet Garden Lounge, designed in partnership with Canadian carrier WestJet, offers a unique and premium experience for travelers.
Aspire Executive Lounges and the Canadian airline WestJet today opened the co-branded Aspire WestJet Garden lounge at YYC Calgary International Airport. Located on the Transborder Departures Level in the U.S. terminal (E Gates), the Aspire WestJet Garden is an extension of the existing YYC Aspire Transborder Lounge. It introduces an additional 90 seats, bringing the total lounge capacity to 216. Designed by Canadian firm Menard Dworkind (MRDK), the lounge features a first-of-its-kind interior garden concept in Canada, offering travellers a serene and elegant space to unwind before their journey.
“We are excited to unveil the Aspire WestJet Garden lounge at YYC—an expansion that underscores our dedication to elevating the travel experience. With more space, upgraded amenities, and a peaceful garden-inspired atmosphere, this new lounge welcomes all guests, regardless of their class of travel, to relax and recharge before their journey,” says David Collyer, Global Senior Vice President of Executive Lounges at Swissport International.
The Aspire WestJet Garden is the result of a multi-year co-branding partnership between Aspire and WestJet. Guests can enjoy complimentary full-service beverages, an array of gourmet food options curated throughout the day by acclaimed local culinary partners, such as the Charcut group, along with high-speed Wi-Fi, charging stations, and shower facilities.
“The Aspire WestJet Garden lounge is a beautiful addition to Swissport’s Aspire Lounge, boasting impressive lounge amenities including a unique indoor garden patio,” said Samantha Taylor, WestJet Executive Vice-President and Chief Experience Officer. “We are thrilled to partner with Swissport to bring this new space to YYC Calgary International Airport and offer WestJet guests more convenience and comfort when they travel.”
Guests will enter through a unified lounge entrance that connects both the original YYC Aspire Transborder Lounge and the newly expanded Aspire WestJet Garden Lounge. While WestJet passengers enjoy priority access, the lounge remains open to all travelers—regardless of airline—offering the opportunity to purchase entry and experience elevated comfort before their flight.
“We’re proud to welcome the new Aspire WestJet Garden Lounge to YYC Calgary International Airport,” says Chris Niergarth, General Manager, Retail & Hospitality Development at The Calgary Airport Authority. “This partnership between Aspire Executive Lounges and WestJet reflects our shared commitment to enhancing the guest experience through innovative, world-class amenities. The addition of this beautifully designed garden lounge creates more opportunity for travelers to relax and recharge before their transborder journey. We are excited to continue strengthening our relationships with WestJet and Swissport through this venture.”
