Operational capability
How Swissport builds capability, training systems, and operational discipline behind reliable aviation services
Through structured training, standardised procedures, and continuous operational capability development, we ensure teams are prepared to execute processes consistently in complex airport environments.
Building operational readiness at scale
Swissport operates a global training system aligned with IATA standards, ensuring consistent capability across all locations. Training is centrally governed and locally delivered, covering the procedures and skills required for reliable execution in complex airport environments.
For every 100 hours worked, operational staff complete approximately 3 hours of structured training.
Key areas include IATA IGOM procedures, ramp operations, turnaround execution, resource coordination, and process compliance.
Skilled teams for complex operations
Operational excellence depends on well-prepared frontline teams able to perform consistently in high-pressure, time-critical environments.
Swissport invests in onboarding, certification, and continuous development to ensure employees can deliver reliable service across diverse airport operations.
Our teams are trained to apply standard procedures while adapting to local operating conditions and day-to-day operational variability.
Operational discipline culture
Swissport’s iCARE culture reinforces accountability and disciplined execution in daily operations. Through structured communication and operational feedback channels, teams help identify process deviations, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
This culture is supported by a Just Culture approach that promotes learning, consistency, and continuous improvement across the network.
