Capability for safe operations
How Swissport’s training, expertise, and safety culture prepare teams to operate safely across global airport environments
Swissport is ISAGO registered and operates under ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certified management systems. With responsibility for more than 4 million flights each year, our 63,000 colleagues are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and safety mindset required to protect people, aircraft, and cargo across diverse operational settings.
Industry-aligned training
Swissport’s global training programmes are aligned with the IATA Ground Operations Manual (IGOM) and supported by our ISAGO-registered operations. Through Swissport Academy, we provide structured training that builds the operational competence and safety awareness required for complex airport environments.
Training focuses on following procedures, building operational discipline, and maintaining consistent standards across our global network.
iCare: our safety culture
Safety at Swissport is embedded in a culture where colleagues are encouraged to take an active role in maintaining safe operations and speak up when something does not look right.
Our iCare programme promotes open communication and shared responsibility for safe operations. Through the iCare app, employees can report incidents, observations, and safety improvements directly from the frontline. Supported by a Just Culture philosophy, the focus is on learning and continuous improvement rather than punitive action, enabling continuous improvement across operations.
Diverse operational environments
Swissport teams are trained to operate across a wide range of airport environments, from major international hubs to regional airports.
Structured training, operational experience, and continuous safety development ensure a consistent level of safety competence across our global workforce. By maintaining standardized procedures and shared safety principles, Swissport strengthens its ability to operate safely in diverse operational contexts.
