Eric Born, President & CEO of Swissport International AG, agrees to extend his contract until the end of 2019

HNA Group and Eric Born announced today that they have agreed to extend Eric Born’s contract as President and CEO of Swissport International AG to December 31, 2019.

“Given Eric’s outstanding leadership, his understanding of the airport ground services and air cargo handling industry, and his clear vision for Swissport’s future, the Company will be best served by his continued leadership as HNA evaluates the strategic options for its Swiss subsidiary,” said Adam Tan, CEO of HNA Group.

Mr. Born has been serving as the President & CEO of the world leader in ground handling and air cargo services since August 2015. He has a strong track record and vast experience in creating value in private equity owned and publicly listed organisations across retail, logistics and aviation services. During his tenure, Swissport further extended its global leadership and saw its profitability strengthened. 

Swissport International AG,on behalf of more than 850 client-companies, provides best-in-class airport ground services for some 265 million passengers annually and handles approximately 4.7 million tonnes of air cargo at 133 warehouses world-wide. Several of its warehouses have been certified for Pharmaceutical Logistics by IATA’s CEIV. In 2017 the group generated consolidated operating revenue of EUR 2.8 billion.
