Swissport signs integration program for job seekers in Geneva
Swissport is launching a new six-month practical training program (TAKE OFF) in Geneva to help job seekers gain valuable experience and improve their employability in the aviation sector. Developed in collaboration with the Cantonal Employment Office of Canton of Geneva (OCE), the initiative offers participants hands-on training across a range of operational and support roles, while contributing to the development of a skilled local workforce.
Job seekers in Geneva will have the opportunity to complete a six-month practical training program at Swissport to enhance their employability. Candidate selection will begin in November 2025, with the program starting at the beginning of 2026. The program will cover around ten roles, including check-in agent, aircraft service operations agent, cargo service agent, ticketing agent, specialized equipment mechanic, business support, and more.
Participants will receive a work certificate from Swissport and training certificates, opening the door to numerous professional opportunities. Some may continue their careers at Swissport, while others can pursue roles in related sectors such as hospitality, logistics, commerce, or public services.
STRENGTHENING EMPLOYABILITY
This initiative aims to strengthen participants’ employability while meeting the growing demand for skilled labor in the aviation sector. “TAKE OFF reflects our strong commitment to social responsibility. By joining forces with the OCE, we are creating real opportunities for sustainable employment, benefiting both job seekers and the local economy,” says Magdalena Boos, Head of Human Resources at Swissport Geneva.
COLLABORATING WITH LOCAL BUSINESSES
“Working hand in hand with Swissport reminds us of the importance of collaborating with local companies that demonstrate social responsibility. This partnership reflects our commitment to actively support job seekers into high-potential professions while strengthening the local economic fabric. In doing so, we provide an effective bridge between training and employment, a strong commitment to employability,” says Ms. Delphine Bachmann, State Councillor of the Canton of Geneva.
